July 1st: Commemorations of the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme. Still the bloodiest day in British military history the 1st July 1916 has been commemorated on the Somme every year since.
17th September: 47th (London) Division Commemoration of the liberation of Martinpuich and neighbouring Longueval.
November 11th – Armistice Day
At around 11:00 a commemoration will be held at every town and village memorial.
Special ceremonies were held at the Ulster Tower, Acheit-le-Grand and Pozières.
10:40 am Remembrance Day Parade at Thiepval Memorial, organised by the British Legion.
Amiens Christmas Market – for the month of December Amiens will be hosting the largest Christmas market in Northern France.
Amiens Cathedral in Colour at 7pm every evening through December. Additional showings 11:00pm Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at midnight.
Christmas Truce Commemoration – Pozières Church usually a Saturday evening in mid December.
